Pin Bhabha Pass Trek Highlights

 

Pin Bhaba Pass is one of the most beautiful and less explored treks in the Himalayas. Though this trail is pretty famous among the shepherds, who commute between Kinnaur Valley and the Pin Valley, this trail is yet to make its mark in the commercial world of trekking.

1. Amazing campsites:

This statement might look vague to you but wait till you see the following photographs. Each and every campsite is so beautiful that it is very difficult to pick a favorite. Enjoy the vast meadows of Mulling, camp near the lake at Kara, sleep on the river delta at Pushtirang and watch the shadow dance on the multicolored mountains at Bara Boulder.

2. River Delta at Pushtirang

Do you know that the river delta is rich in minerals and sediments? Pin Bhaba Pass is one of the few treks where you get to camp on a river delta! Due to rich mineral deposits, Phustirang is blessed with an amazing floral carpet. The land is divided into tiny slabs with numerous streams and is surrounded by giant green mountains.

3. Snow Slide at Pass

The pass crossing day is the most difficult one, as it involves a steep climb. Once you’ve reached the top however, it is all going to be a merry time. Feel the adrenaline rush as you slide down the snow, let your crazy self out and play a snow ball game. Go all out, because no one is going to judge you.

4. Flower watching all along the trail

Pin Bhaba Pass not only stuns you with its contrasting landscape but the whole trail is decorated with a kaleidoscope of wild flowers. Keep your eyes open to spot some of the most amazing flowers at Negul valley and pink floral carpet at Kara. Bright yellow flowers at Phustirang will surely steal your heart away.

5. Contrasting landscapes of Bhaba Valley and Pin Valley:

Prepare yourself to be awestruck with the contrasting landscapes of Pin Valley after traversing in Bhaba Valley for four days. The dark green mountains get replaced with dry and barren mountains of Spiti, and the lush green fields and meadows are taken over by loose rocks and dirt hill terrain.

Given a chance, I go back to Pin Bhaba Pass in a heartbeat.
